  • .....how to reduce Global Tropical Rainforest Deforestation.........

Mass deforestation of the world's Tropical Rain Forests is not acceptable nor sustainable. These forests are not easily renewable resources even under FSC Stewardship and certainly cannot be regarded as sustainable now or within the next 2-3 generations.

It can take up to 200 years for a tropical hardwood tree to become of commercial use and even then what is being done to preserve the habitat of flora and fauna?

A serious number of these such as the only 2 species of Orang Utan in the world and the unique Sumatran Tiger are now seriously endangered to the verge of extinction as a direct result of this exploitation!!

Sumatra was once forested with over 60,000 square miles of lush lowland rainforest. Now, torn down by logging and ripped up for plantations, less than 5% remains - this is a staggering fact!

Please do not allow this to continue - it's not too late!

The demand for hardwood creates the market for this level of deforestation - you can help by changing your requirements - we offer a wide range of colours, many similar to most hardwoods.
